I believe that small DIY artists deserve to be seen AND heard. The music industry isn’t just an auditory experience anymore. With social media and music videos playing such a massive role in the industry, your visual presence is just as important as your music.
And, yeah, you could get your friend with an iPhone to take your promo photos and shoot your music videos, and I’m not saying that wouldn’t work for you, but there is a difference between just any average person picking up an iPhone and a professional photographer who has a genuine passion for music and an understanding of the industry. And, when you’re a small DIY artist, you can’t afford to NOT invest in the visual part of your musical brand.

I had the privilege of interviewing, photographing, and videoing Morgan Saint at her show in Phoenix, Arizona a few years ago. We talked about her journey as an artist and how much her fans mean to her. As my first interview with an artist, this show holds such a special place in my heart.
I got the chance to work with local San Diego artist on her original music videos for her new songs Living in Your Religion, Remember, This Can’t Be Love, and Whole Lotta Crazy.
Her wild energy, stunning vocals, and willingness to do pretty much anything for the sake of art made her videos so much fun to be a part of!
I’ve also had the pleasure of building up local San Diego artist Jemille Vialet’s YouTube channel by filming several cover videos with him.
